BookWomen — after

BookWomen is a quarterly print magazine celebrating women’s words and literature. Each issue features subscriber-contributed content, book reviews, and articles about women writers, independent booksellers, and libraries.

Subscriptions were being sold online and then manually entered into an offsite database. There was no connection between the ordering system and the database, and subscribers were unable to renew themselves online or select the option to autorenew their subscriptions. The site design was static and unresponsive. Renewal notices were being sent via US mail.

Girl Wide Web rebuilt BookWomen’s outdated website and set up an online subscription sales and management system, allowing for customers to manage and renew their subscriptions online, and for renewal notices to be sent via email  We also built their Greatest Books directory — a curated list of 200 books chosen by book groups, originating from a list that has been maintained since 1986.
